Baths

Full Bath – also known as hydrotherapy, baths are very useful with a dual action via inhalation from the heat as well as dermal absorption of the essential oils.  Benefits include: relief of stress, fatigue, nervousness, tension, headaches, migraine, menstrual problems, poor circulation, sore hands or feet, arthritic joints, sweaty feet, tinea.  When used in conjunction to Epsom salts, baths can also be used to relieve tired, aching muscles.

Sitz Bath – the bath is only filled with water to cover the hip/buttock area.  Sitz baths stimulate an increase in blood circulation which helps to eliminate congestions, stagnations, irritations and the initial stages of inflammation of the ovaries.  In specific clinical applications, they are recommended for haemorrhoids, urinary tract complaints, vaginal thrush, fibroids, pelvic congestion, painful menstruation and infection in the genital area.

Foot Bath – used hot, cold or alternating hot and cold, foot baths provide excellent therapy for the relief of cramps in the feet and legs and for complaints such as swollen ankles, foot infection, chilblains, headache, catarrh, folds, cold feet, poor circulation.   They can be used to overcome insomnia and to relive pain associated with neuralgia, gout and menstrual cramps.

Hand Bath – as there are many reflex points in the hands, hand baths can affect other parts of the body and are recommended to restore healthy circulation in the wrists and hands. A hand bath can be useful in the rehabilitation of any injury in this area, they can help control minor haemorrhages in other areas of the body, relieve frost bite and are an excellent treatment for cold hands.
